Craigslist pulled its Personals section in response to the combined Fight Online Sex Trafficking Act and the Stop Enabling Sex Traffickers Act that Congress passed back in March 2018. That law makes websites criminally and civilly liable for any misuse of personal ads by their users. The Missed Connections community lives on, though, under the Craigslist Community section.
Where do I begin let’s start with your personal programs that you have added into your system with all the fake profiles the fake likes only to try to generate people to pay monies for things they don’t need like your meat meat program aside from that all of the prostitution fake profiles and your scammer profiles all from Guam and places of that sort or Ghana
I do NOT want my chemistry details to be on my profile! You did not state that it would show and we would not have a choice when we filled it out. I thought it was only a way for you to help find the right person for us, and not that everyone would be able to see it. Why would anybody want me when they can see on that chemistry profile that I have “a problem with self-control”? Why in the world would you want to post something negative when you’re supposed to be trying to help us find someone?

Objective, non-emotional answer: Where will past users of Craigslist personals now go? Probably OkCupid or Bumble. I think that these two platforms have very much established themselves as data-based, efficient modes of matching. As they have gained popularity over the past few years, I think that they have cut into Craigslist’s market share - since Craigslist is essentially just a newsgroup that doesn’t offer a whole lot of functionality. Accordingly, I don’t think that this closure will displace a lot of folks.
