Match.com was founded by Gary Kremen and Peng T. Ong in 1993.[3][4] Early on, Kremen was assisted by Ong, who helped in the design of the initial system, and Simon Glinsky, who served as the company's marketing consultant.[5] Fran Maier joined the company as its director of marketing.[5] According to a retrospective from The Atlantic, Maier helped to develop Match.com's initial business strategy, which included a subscription model and the inclusion of diverse communities, including women, technology professionals, and the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities.[5] Match.com went live as a free beta in early 1995, and was first profiled in Wired magazine that same year.[4][6]
Yes, it happens with a lot of users who usually login after a very long time. Although it is a simple process, sometimes it causes a lot of problems. After a lot of trials, if you are still unable to find the right email id for Match login member account, then Match customer service executives are always up to rectify any kind of errors you are having. Usually, people use their personal email id to login in to Match, but if you use any other email id there might be a chance of forgetting it.
The basic search is a quick way to get started and filters members by the basic features of gender, age range, and location you have stated you want. To run a basic search, head to the Discover menu and click on the Go Search tab, which will bring up a list of member results. From the Go Search page you can refine your results further and run an Advanced search by clicking on the filter icon. This will drop down a list of categories (shortcuts, interests, looks, personal, and lifestyle) each with various optional checkboxes you can select from to filter your results in more detail. Essentially, this advanced search allows you to filter by any profile field. For any basic or advanced search, you can click the bookmark icon to save your settings for future use.
Hi Stephen, First of all, I am really sorry you are still dealing with Match.com and their unethical ways. I am still receiving emails for Match too, even though I have canceled my account many months ago. I scam every email they send me, but they send new emails form alternate email addresses. Perhaps you will have better luck then me, if call them. I am seriously thinking of contacting Better Business Bureau to see if that helps. I know that it looks bad for a business to have complaints on them on BBB, so if you mentioned that to Match when you call them (that is if you get to reach them), they might stop pestering you. So the only advice I can think of is, contact BBB, and state your concern and complaint to them. Good luck!

Match.com has a very guided, step-by-step registration process that only takes about 15 to 30 minutes to complete. The moment you land on Match you’re prompted to sign up and get started with a popup requesting you select your gender, the gender of others you are looking to meet, age ranges of others, and your zip code. On the next screen you are guided to create a free account to browse photos, requiring only an email address, password, and your date of birth. Next you enter your name and select the locational method from which you would like to meet others, either by proximity to your zip code or by region. The registration process then walks you through a matching process questionnaire
After you’ve gone through your daily matches, you can view your connections on the site, a combination of today’s matches you’ve shown interest in and all of your past interactions with others, by heading to the Connections section. This section keeps track of members with whom you have interacted, in one way or another, organized by winks, likes, who’s viewed you, who’s favorited you, and members you have favorited. This section also allows you to keep a phonebook where you can store MatchPhone contacts and voicemails.
A review of Match.com will definitely let you know that the search options are exceptional. Members are automatically provided with their suggested matches, but they may also do a manual search as the onsite options are numerous. The advanced search feature on Match.com is very detailed, and includes in-depth search filters, which are difficult to find anywhere else, such as exercise frequency. Members can save the searches which they prefer, and input the location and age range in the search bar, to find a range of profiles which may fall just beyond their match criteria. Results can also be refined by choosing attributes such as religion or education. Common keywords which are important to users, can also be used to search for suitable matches.
Matter what option you choose - there is no one to speak to - ever! They say the only way to stop it auto renewing from an iPhone is to do it from settings - subscriptions- it’s not there in my list. I paid £60 the first time for 6months, I used it for all of 2 weeks - it’s was rubbish and even though I thought I’d cancelled it it then it auto renewed and charged me £119.34!!!!! I went to PayPal who came back saying that my refund had been declined! Steer well clear of this money machine!
The matches were very good. It is extremely hard to find good singles in South Florida. I never viewed any of my matches as a bad match or a waste of time. Each date was a good experience for me and taught me more about want I really needed in a partner each time. I would recommend Match.com to anyone. Bottom line, I am now married to my last match.com match!

Match.com provides one of the more versatile user experiences, allowing members to discover others and communicate through a variety of means. Match uses a detailed, ever-improving algorithm to pair you with others you are likely to have a connection with. The site not only incorporates the information you provide into it’s matching system, such as the eye color you’d like her to have, but also monitors your behavior on the site to match you with others you are looking at and/or communicating with the most, even if your behavior goes against what you told the dating site you want. By incorporating behavior and user-inputted information, the site creates a matching system that is more life-like, more closely mirroring how you would likely meet and mesh with others in in-person pickup and dating scenarios.

New, non-members have the best chance at scoring savings using a Match.com coupon code or promo code. Match.com occasionally offers seasonal discounts as well as discounts during various retail holidays, which are usually the best times to sign up for the service and receive the most substantial savings on long-term memberships. (It’s also a great time to sign-up because the site tends to get an influx of new members when they run large, national discounts, so you have more fish in the Match.com sea at these times.) Traditional paper coupons aren’t as popular anymore, as the dating platform is digital, however you may still find some paper coupons in certain magazines and in coupon mailers such as Valpak.
Match has an assortment of other features that help keep the site on the top of the online dating spectrum, with new features continually added. Some standout add-on features include the ability to view who has viewed your profile, the option to boost yourself to the top spot of searches, an ongoing list of mixer events, and a discover section to quickly like or pass on users, which is divided into a stream component, much like a Facebook newsfeed, and mixer component that is most like a hot or not swiping game.
From desktop to app, Match perfects the user experience, setting a high bar for others to follow. The site has enough discovery tools and communication methods to get the job done, but is clear and concise enough to start using from day 1. Member profiles are thorough, yet not daunting, and when viewed are customized to each member, highlighting similar hobbies and complimentary ‘looking for’ requirements. Profiles accommodate numerous photos and can display as little or much information as members choose to share, allowing for increased flexibility of use and again accommodating a large, diverse crowd. The site is most certainly a mainstream online dating site designed to match singles for more serious dates and relationships, yet because of the audience it attracts it can certainly be used as a hookup site for those looking for matches of a higher caliber.
match are very money oriented and there site has its flaws. Not only do you have to pay to subscribe, you have to pay extra if you want to filter who can contact you witch is totally wrong, it should be included as part of your subscription, im getting sick of women outside of my age and country looking at my profile, adding me to faves etc. As others have mentioned there is this new rejection system witch you will get used to getting in no time, it seems theres too many window shoppers or shallow girls, i consider myself to be good looking and a good guy but spend more time talking to myself. This is the last time im going to use the site, im moving on to other dating sites
DO NOOOOOOOOOT!!!!! I REPEAT ...DO NOT join this site. There is DEF something suspicous going on with this site tht makes it sooooo difficult to connect. The way the site is arranged has alot of flaws. I'm a very attractove woman and it is the struggle of life 2 connect. Trust me, it's not my looks. I'm brain storming on another way 4 us singles 2 connect beyond this played out ON LINE dating world.
The worst site imaginable. Look forward to spending two minutes verifying that you're not a computer every time you log in (after paying), so you can see 45 people, two of whom you're interested in (in a top 5 city in terms of population in the US), one of whom has been online in the last year... and a bunch of people a hundred miles away. All good reviews about this horrible site online are ones they paid for. Run for the internet hills.
In addition to the Go Search tab, under the Discovery menu you will also find a Mutual Match tab, a Reverse Match tab, and a Username tab. Mutual match filters results based on characteristics you stated you are looking for you in profile while the Reverse Match filters results based on characteristics you stated you have in your profile that others stated they are looking for in a match. Username is exactly what it sounds like and allows you to search by username, which may be helpful if you’re looking for someone who is a huge enthusiast of something in particular -- a restaurant, a sports team, or any sort of hobby, for example.
I signed up 15/08 to the site and thought it would be an honest place since it's for mature people. I was emailed by this man on the site. He's a longstanding member of Match as well & i suspect many other sites. He & i exchanged a few emails where he started using what looked like common interests & other tactics in order to gain your trust & a false bond. He bored me with what i thought was his life story. Even revealing details that should remain private about his family.

I have made several attemps, vai phone and email, My account will not allow me to make any changes to my profile. Each attempt, is ask for my passsword, trying every password that I have ever used, I click on, "forgot password", I am prompted to enter my email address for further instructions, I type in my email address, check my emails and there is no mail what so ever, delivered. This has been going on for two weeks. I have made contact, personal, with one of the matches and have ask them if they even see my messages I type on their profile, which they dont. Ive reported this to match, they couldnt fix the issue but my cancellation will not be until the end of my service contract...All I want is my money back. Match.com has the worst customer service out of any company that I have ever dealt with....Stay away from match....

I am very disappointed with having joined a week ago. The matches are not in line with what I have requested on my profile. I have received very little responses from what appears as active prospects. I would like to cancel my membership. I was a member back in 2004 and found it very successful and nothing to compare with my experience this time. I would like my questions answered… Thank you for your time. Terri179

If the continued popularity surrounding Match doesn’t spark your interest, the data the site releases speaks for itself. 38% of members reportedly have had a relationship that started on the site and lasted over a month, much longer than almost any other site, while 33% of Match users report having relationships that last longer than 4 months. Because it’s a paid site, Match may not be on the top of your list of dating sites to try, but if you continue on the online dating route, it’s likely a site you’ll eventually land on.
He is mentally ill, a penniless hoarding hermit living in a small village, South of UK sorrounded by dust mites & mildew, living in one room in a dark dingy delapidated grimy dirty smelly house, with decaying food, filthy carpets covered in other women's hair, dirty underwear, dry skin particles & heaven knows what else. The stacks of dusty old newspapers are a sight to behold. He has nothing to offer anyone. He might try to fool you by mentioning how it would be nice to settle down get married & have children soon. Don't fall for it. It's nothing but a string of lies. He spends 24/7 in a filthy dressing gown stuffing his face when he has cut price food in the shack. The highlight of his day is watching other people going about their business & gossiping repeating for the hundredth time yet another boring old story. He'll tell you lies of how he's a hard worker pointing out the benefits cheats living nearby but he's exactly the same only he lives on other peoples wages as well. He goes for days without brushing his teeth or even having a shower or bath. He licks the crockery instead of washing up. Shock horror!

If match_type is 0 and lookup_value is a text string, you can use the wildcard characters — the question mark (?) and asterisk (*) — in the lookup_value argument. A question mark matches any single character; an asterisk matches any sequence of characters. If you want to find an actual question mark or asterisk, type a tilde (~) before the character.
